In collaboration with your child’s primary care provider or other referring physician, we will schedule your first pediatric gynecology visit. Our office and exam rooms are set up with privacy and comfort in mind. We take a noninvasive approach to care whenever possible, and our staff is trauma informed. This means we understand the profound impact of trauma and work to create an environment that is always physically and emotionally safe for survivors and providers.
One of the first steps during a visit is often a genital exam. If an exam is indicated, it will occur at your child’s own pace. We make every effort to ensure their comfort, dignity, and safety throughout. Typically, an exam involves visual inspection only. Exams can be arranged under anesthesia as needed, according to your child’s tolerance or for any steps that are considered more invasive.
